Frequently Asked Questions
Does acupuncture hurt?
No. Yes, we're dealing with needles. But you definitely want to know that acupuncture does not hurt! Occasionally, a patient may feel a slight prick, but I can easily make subtle adjustments to lessen any minor discomforts. As your treatment takes hold, most patients find it extremely relaxing and often catch a few zzz's on the table.
How many treatments will it take?
Your treatment plan is as unique as you are. As you begin, I recommend weekly treatments so you can accumulate the benefits of acupuncture. We will always evaluate your response to treatments and adjust your plan accordingly, usually within 3-6 weeks. Ideally, we are able to resolve your initial concerns and roll into a maintenance schedule of monthly visits to keep you optimized. Of course, other concerns may arise – and we will deal with those as they come.
What can I do to get the most out of my treatments?
You can contribute tremendously to your treatment goals with dietary, lifestyle, self care improvements. I am happy to help you get there.
What is the facial rejuvenation treatment plan?
A series of 10 weekly treatments is the optimal protocol to begin, with monthly maintenance after that. Most patients notice improvement with each treatment.
How should I prepare for my treatment?
Please bring your completed Health History and Consent to Treat forms so we don't cut into our time together with paperwork. It's also great to have a snack before your appointment. Otherwise, just bring your authentic self. We will talk about you as a three-dimensional person in this world and then get to work nourishing you! If you can, wearing loose-fitting clothing will help me access critical acupuncture points. For facial rejuvenation clients it’s helpful to come with your clean, natural face, but cleanser is available.
“I have been a patient of Holly's for four years. I am an acupuncturist and can assure you that I am very particular with who I will ask to treat me. Holly’s intake skills, needling technique and manner are top notch. Just being in her presence promotes a feeling of serenity and healing."
